Bringing warmth and cheer like the morning winter sun, this luxurious pure silk mekhela sador set in soft thistle, a subdued lavender with silver undertone, is skilfully handcrafted with heritage motifs and enhanced with a painstakingly woven border in vibrant yellow and tea-dyed Eri silk. A silken indulgence to make every day special!

Mekhela Sador is the traditional Assamese drape worn by women in Assam. It is a two-piece set consisting of a lower garment called the Mekhela, folded into pleats and is worn waist down over a petticoat. The upper garment called the Sador is pleated or let loose at the end like a saree pallu.

All TSC products are meticulously handcrafted from scratch, using the finest materials, one piece at a time. Our products involve crafts-based traditions of hand spinning, dyeing and weaving. Due to this process, there may be a variation from one item to the next. Such variations are inherent in the manufacturing of handmade products, so you may expect minor distinctions that will make your purchase special and truly one of a kind.
