Luxuriously handcrafted Paat (mulberry) by Tussar silk mekhela sador in green shot colour, with an iridescent appearance. Accentuated with our favourite chokori motifs in white and orange meenakari, all done in Eri silken thread, and a stitched border typical of Assamese drapes.

Mekhela Sador is the traditional Assamese drape worn by women in Assam. Traditional, Mekhela Sadors were made only from Muga, Pat and cotton. However, nowadays modern low-budget sets are made with varying blends of Eri, Muga, Tussar or Paat silk with Assam handloom cotton.

Made from: 100% silk; blend of Paat (mulberry) & Tussar silk

Sador: 2.75m (approx.)

Mekhela: 1.75m x 2m (approx. circumference)

Blouse Length: 1m (approx.)

Making time: Approximately 80 labour hrs. (8-10 days)

Note: The blouse seen on the model is only for representation. Set includes an unstitched blouse piece.

We provide complimentary finishing services (fall, edging and hand done tassels) with this set.

All TSC products are meticulously handcrafted from scratch, using the finest materials, one piece at a time. Our products involve crafts-based traditions of hand spinning, dyeing and weaving. Due to this process, there may be a variation from one item to the next. Such variations are inherent in the manufacturing of handmade products, so you may expect minor distinctions that will make your purchase special and truly one of a kind.
