When it comes to pure Eri silk, this soft as butter saree in natural lac dye is a show stopper. Its beauty lies in its elaborately designed pallu with our newest jathi (spear) motifs in Muga ghisa and red Eri meenakari, painstakingly woven by our master weavers. Immaculately woven border in laborious maku mara technique and phool booti on the body further enhances this beauty. Truly a saree connoisseur's delight!

Ghisa silk, produced in the eastern states of India, is a by-product of Vanya (wild) silks like Tussar and Muga. Ghisa silk is short and has a coarse texture since the yarns are obtained by piercing the cocoons.

Made from: 100% pure Eri silk

Length: 5.5m (approx.), Width: 46" (approx.)

Blouse Length: 1m (approx.)

Making time: Approximately 200 labour hrs. (22-25 days)

Note: The blouse seen on the model is only for representation. Saree is paired with an unstitched blouse piece.

Natural dyed fabrics need special care owing to the properties of the dyes. Some natural dyed products tend to fade over a period of time - please do not consider it as a defect. Natural dyes are living colours, a slight fading is the core property and beauty of these textiles.

Care Instructions:

  • Dry clean only.

  • Store your Assam silk saree in the breathable cotton dustbag we provide with your purchase.

  • Avoid exposure to moisture as zari tends to react to weather changes.

  • Air your Assam silk saree from time to time and re-fold to avoid creasing at the same place for an extended period of time.

We use both natural/plant-based and azo-free commercial dyes with the goal of minimising our impact on the environment while striving for the best colour properties. An irregular weave is not a defect - handloom by definition means uncertainty when it comes to uniformity.

Disclaimer: Product colour may slightly vary due to photographic lighting sources or your monitor setting.
