An ethereal beauty that befits a place in a seasoned saree collector's wardrobe.

A charming Eri by Kesa Paat silk saree in off-white adorned with our favourite Xattriya motifs in Muga ghisa and indigo Eri silk complemented by striped  border in tussar silk. Timeless and absolutely elegant, this piece is an ode to old-world luxury.

Xattriya Nritya of Assam is one of the principal classical dance forms of India. It has remained a living tradition since its creation by the founder of Vaishnavism in Assam, the great saint Srimanta Sankardev, in 15th century Assam. These dance dramas are usually performed in the community halls (namghar) or monastery temples (sattras). Themes revolve around Krishna leela and Radha, and sometimes about other Vishnu avatars such as Rama and Sita.

Made from: 100% silk; blend of Eri and Kesa Paat (raw mulberry) silk

Length: 5.5m (approx.), Width: 46" (approx.)

Blouse Length: 1m (approx.)

Number of man-hours to weave the saree: Approximately 96 hrs. (10-12 days)

Note: The blouse seen on the model is only for representation. Saree is paired with its own unstitched blouse piece.

All TSC products are handcrafted from scratch, using the finest materials. The subtle variations in colour, texture and finish are intrinsic to hand made products. Our products involve crafts-based traditions of hand spinning, dyeing, weaving and embroidery.

Care Instructions:

  • Dry clean only.

  • Store your Assam silk saree in the breathable cotton dustbag we provide with your purchase.

  • Avoid exposure to moisture as zari tends to react to weather changes.

  • Air your Assam silk saree from time to time and re-fold to avoid creasing at the same place for an extended period of time.

We use both natural/plant-based and commercial dyes with the goal of minimising our impact on the environment while striving for the best colour properties. An irregular weave is not a defect - handloom by definition means uncertainty when it comes to uniformity.

Disclaimer: Product colour may slightly vary due to photographic lighting sources or your monitor setting.
