A testament to the skill of our master weavers, this is a stunning piece of handloom art! A fabulous and unconventional silk cotton saree in a stunning shade of red, enhanced with a mix of floral and geometric motifs in green & white, and black meenakari, this one is a standout piece.

Assam handloom products exhibit a strong sense of color and design - a result of its long craft heritage. Designs are mostly geometric patterns or stylised symbols of animals, human figures, flowers and birds. The designs in Assam, as in other parts of India, are symbolic of the different tribes and ethnic groups of the region.

Made from: blend of pure Kesa Paat (raw mulberry) silk and cotton

Length: 5.5m (approx.), Width: 46" (approx.)

Blouse Length: 1m (approx.)

Number of man-hours to weave the saree: Approximately 96 hrs. (10-12 days)

Note: The blouse seen on the model is only for representation. Saree is paired with an unstitched blouse piece.

All TSC products are handcrafted from scratch, using the finest materials. The subtle variations in colour, texture and finish are intrinsic to hand made products. Our products involve crafts-based traditions of hand spinning, dyeing and weaving.

Care Instructions:

  • Dry clean only.

  • Store your Assam silk saree in the breathable cotton dustbag we provide with your purchase.

  • Avoid exposure to moisture as zari tends to react to weather changes.

  • Air your Assam silk saree from time to time and re-fold to avoid creasing at the same place for an extended period of time.

We use both natural/plant-based and azo-free commercial dyes with the goal of minimising our impact on the environment while striving for the best colour properties. An irregular weave is not a defect - handloom by definition means uncertainty when it comes to uniformity.

Disclaimer: Product colour may slightly vary due to photographic lighting sources or your monitor setting.
