A meticulously crafted wonder, you can't help but fall in love! Made using undyed, natural red Eri silk, this mekhela sador set is enhanced with a delicate mix of floral and geometric Assamese motifs, a result of detailed, nuanced craftsmanship painstakingly woven over weeks. The time consuming pallu in striking dark red and white Eri silk meenakari, anchors the look with depth and character. A timeless masterpiece!
Red Eri is a rare variety found in the Kokrajhar district of Assam that feeds on a particular species of ficus leaves (ficus citrifolia), producing reddish-orange silk cocoons. These cocoons are separated from the white and processed separately, producing the unique and very beautiful red Eri silk.
Made from: 100% natural red Eri (ahimsa) silk
Sador: 2.80m (approx.) in Eri silk
Mekhela: 1.80m x 2m (approx. circumference) in Eri silk
Blouse: 1m (approx.)
Making time: Approximately 160 labour hrs. (18-20 days)
