Taking inspiration from the Bodo tribe's Dokhona and Phul Mwbla (varieties of bloomed flowers) design, we feature our garnet red silk cotton saree in brick red with multicoloured floral motifs. Our organic cotton sarees, handspun and handwoven by women of lower Brahmaputra valley, have intricate weaves but are exceptionally light.

Weaving is an integral part of the Bodo culture. Every Bodo home has a loom and the woman of the house weaves clothes for herself and her family, during her spare time. A skill passed on from mother to daughter, the Bodo woman would weave traditional clothing items like the Dokhona (a sari-like garment worn by Bodo women), Aronai (scarf) and the Gamosa (a multipurpose shawl-like garment), as well as other clothing requirements of the family.

Made from: blend of Eri silk & cotton

Length: 5.5m (approx.); Width: 46" (approx.)

Blouse Length: 85-95cm

Making time: Approx. 80 labour hrs. (8-10 days)

Note: The blouse seen on the model is only for representation. Saree is paired with an unstitched blouse piece.

All TSC products are meticulously handcrafted from scratch, using the finest materials, one piece at a time. Our products involve crafts-based traditions of hand spinning, dyeing and weaving. Due to this process, there may be a variation from one item to the next. Such variations are inherent in the manufacturing of handmade products, so you may expect minor distinctions that will make your purchase special and truly one of a kind.

I have been buying from you since 2018 and have never been disappointed. Beautiful collection that I just keep coming back to. Thank you for these exclusive Assam handloom sarees. May you continue to grow exponentially.

I recently purchased a Kesa Paat saree from TSC and what a joy it was to see the clean weaving on the product. The saree is light as air and draped so well without looking puffy. I thoroughly enjoyed the saree and look forward to purchase more products from you guys.

I absolutely loved the Celebrating Northeast series. Unique collection that I haven't seen anywhere else. Stunning pieces. I have a Naga design saree that I absolutely love and have received so many compliments from family and friends. Waiting to see what you bring next.

I draped the turmeric Eri silk saree yesterday for a lecture. It's such a gorgeous drape...Not too heavy and oh-so-elegant! Sorry that I didn't get to take a photo.

Latha Balu, Singapore

Many thanks for the wonderful Muga weave. It looks and feels amazing and easy to drape. I am more than satisfied with your sarees. I will definitely be coming back to you again for repeat purchases.
