Luxuriously handcrafted Kesa Paat (raw mulberry silk) mekhela sador in eggplant accentuated with mogor (paisley) motifs, each motif individually woven in cement grey and coral Eri silk, and a stitched border typical of Assamese drapes.
Mekhela Sador is the traditional Assamese drape worn by women in Assam. Traditional, Mekhela Sadors were made only from Muga, Paat and cotton. However, nowadays modern low-budget sets are made with varying blends of Eri, Muga, Tussar or Paat silk with Assam handloom cotton.
